Important Requirements for Hospice Notarizations

Before any document can be notarized, the signer must be willing and able to communicate their wishes and understand the document they are signing.

Florida notaries cannot determine legal competency, but the signer must appear aware of their surroundings, understand the purpose of the document, and be able to communicate directly with the notary.

The signer cannot be pressured, coerced, or forced to sign a document.

In addition, the signer should not be so heavily affected by medication, illness, or a medical condition that they are unable to understand what they are signing or communicate their decisions.

If there are concerns about the signer's condition, we recommend contacting the preparing attorney or healthcare professional before scheduling the appointment.

Our goal is to ensure that every notarization is completed properly, legally, and with respect for the signer and their family.
